Residential Window Film Tax Credit
A tax credit directly reduces your income tax, unlike a deduction, which reduces the amount of income subject to tax. The credit then directly increases the tax refund you receive or decreases the amount you have to pay. Thanks to a recent policy revision, homeowners can now receive a 10% credit on the cost of residential window film, up to $500. Installation charges do not apply. The new policy is retroactive to January 1, 2012 and expires December 31, 2013. More information at www.engerystar.gov
